Choose feedback without vibration

Vibration feedback is optional in Sound & haptics. You can turn it off while continuing to use the timer, journal, and history normally.

Identify the reading or comfort need

Vibration feedback is optional in Sound & haptics. You can turn it off while continuing to use the timer, journal, and history normally.

Adjust the relevant control

Open Sound & haptics and disable Vibration feedback. Confirm actions through the screen's state changes, such as an active timer appearing or a completed record entering History.

Accessibility includes Reduce motion, Follow system, Larger timer numerals, High contrast ring, and Bold text. Fastly also follows device text size, so check both app and system settings for the effective result.

Check the real screen

Turning off haptics does not by itself disable notification sound or the goal chime. Review those settings separately if your purpose is a quiet overall experience.

Keep presentation and records distinct

Feedback is a cue, not the event itself. A successful stop is established by the stored completed record rather than by whether the phone vibrated.

Follow system concerns device motion and bold-text preferences. An explicit in-app reduction or bold-text choice can also request that behavior; review the combination instead of assuming one toggle tells the whole story.

A worked walkthrough

Imagine turning vibration feedback off because you do not want the phone to respond physically to taps. After making that choice, use the visible state to confirm actions: a current timer appears after start, and a completed entry appears after stop. If a tap seems ineffective, inspect those state changes rather than repeating actions merely because there was no vibration. Sound preferences are independent, so a goal chime or system notification can still be audible unless configured separately. Conversely, hearing nothing does not establish that an operation failed. Optional sensory cues can make interaction convenient, but the stored record is the stronger evidence of a successful timing change. This approach is also useful when using hardware that provides different feedback behavior. Keep the action, its data result, and its optional sound or vibration as distinct parts of the workflow.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
