A REFLECTION · JOURNALING

Choose what not to journal

A deliberate journal can leave some information out.

Give the entry a purpose

A deliberate journal can leave some information out. Before adding detail, consider whether it will help you understand the record or whether you are recording it only because a field exists.

Write and save deliberately

Keep the facts that matter to your purpose and omit details you do not want in readable backups. You can choose timestamps alone, timestamps with a sentence, or a mood without weight.

A note may record uncertainty, context, or a change of plan. These are self-reported descriptions, and neither the text nor a mood label establishes a medical result or a cause-and-effect relationship.

Use a concrete example

A note about a missed stop may be useful; an unrelated private conversation may not be. The right boundary depends on the purpose of your own log.

Read the note in context

Do not confuse a sparse record with an incomplete person or day. The app is a selective tool, and the meaning of your life extends far beyond its stored fields.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
