Identify the reading or comfort need
Theme, ring style, text, motion, and optional feedback choices affect how Fastly presents information. They do not rewrite the stored start and end of existing sessions.
Adjust the relevant control
Use these controls freely to improve readability, then confirm the actual record through Today or History. If the number seems different, inspect its underlying timestamp rather than blaming the palette.
Follow system concerns device motion and bold-text preferences. An explicit in-app reduction or bold-text choice can also request that behavior; review the combination instead of assuming one toggle tells the whole story.
Check the real screen
A goal change is different: it updates the active session's intended duration. Keeping display preferences separate from recording controls helps explain which actions can affect a marker or reminder.
| Check | Practical meaning |
|---|---|
| Presentation preference | Change how information appears |
| Goal or time control | Change session data |
Keep presentation and records distinct
A calmer or bolder screen is still a view of the same ledger. Presentation should support interpretation without being mistaken for a change in the event facts.
Timer status includes words and a semantic description rather than relying on color alone. Read elapsed time, goal, and active state together, particularly when a full ring could be mistaken for an automatically stopped session.
A worked walkthrough
Imagine switching from Light to Dark, enabling larger numerals, and turning vibration off. The same current start and completed history remain underneath those presentation choices. By contrast, selecting a new protocol while a timer runs updates that active record's goal, and Edit times changes event timestamps. When investigating a surprising display, identify which kind of control you last used before deciding what to repair. If it was appearance, inspect the actual stored time and label rather than assuming data changed because the layout looks different. If it was a goal control, a changed ring can be expected while elapsed remains the same. Separating these categories is useful after a backup restore too: imported preferences can make the app look unfamiliar even when the expected sessions are present. Verify records and presentation as separate parts of your review.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
