Use the high contrast ring preference

The High contrast ring preference adjusts the timer's visual contrast.

Identify the reading or comfort need

The High contrast ring preference adjusts the timer's visual contrast. It is separate from choosing a dark theme, so inspect both settings rather than assuming the palette alone solves readability.

Adjust the relevant control

Open Accessibility, review High contrast ring, and compare the dial in the environment where you use the app. Check that the value and caption remain readable too.

Sound and vibration are optional feedback choices. They are separate from appearance and from the operating system's notification permissions, so a quiet-looking screen does not by itself establish silent alerts.

Check the real screen

If you use Minimal orbit, evaluate that combination specifically: a finer line and a contrast preference affect different aspects of the same display.

Keep presentation and records distinct

Fastly's status is also expressed in words. A ring's color or thickness should not be your only source for deciding whether the session is active or the goal is reached.

Appearance offers System, Light (Paper Studio), and Dark (Quiet Orbit), plus Minimal orbit. These choices affect the visual presentation and do not alter session timestamps, journals, or completed-history ordering.

A worked walkthrough

Consider checking the dial in an environment where the ring is difficult to distinguish from its surrounding surface. Review High contrast ring, then inspect the effect with the theme and ring style you actually use. If Minimal orbit is enabled, remember that line thickness and contrast are different visual attributes. You may prefer changing one, both, or neither after seeing the result. Also read the words and numerical value so the ring is not carrying the entire meaning of the screen. A goal-reached ring can remain on an active session; that state is clearer when you include its caption and controls. The appropriate setting is a practical readability choice for your context, not a universal claim that one palette or line treatment is best. None of these display adjustments alters the stored event times or the optional journal fields attached to the session.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
