SIDE BY SIDE · HISTORY & RECORDS

Main history and the archive explained

Fastly separates the main history from archived sessions. Both collections can remain on the device, but only main history feeds the standard session summaries and weekly display.

Know which records you are viewing

Make the smallest useful change

Use main history for the records you want included in everyday review. Use the archive for retained records you intentionally want outside that view, such as a labeled interface test.

Archive is a separate retained collection. Main-history session totals and current rhythm read the main collection, while JSON backup export includes both main history and archived records.

Verify the result

An export includes both main history and archived records. Archiving therefore changes visibility and summaries rather than stripping that information from a backup.

Preserve an honest history

Document your own reason for archiving if it matters. Two ledgers with the same visible total can contain very different excluded records, which changes what a summary represents.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
