A REFLECTION · JOURNALING

Use a retrospective note without rewriting history

Writing about a session days later can be useful, but memory and contemporaneous recording are different sources of information. Make that distinction visible in the wording.

Give the entry a purpose

Writing about a session days later can be useful, but memory and contemporaneous recording are different sources of information. Make that distinction visible in the wording.

Write and save deliberately

Begin with a phrase such as “added later” when the timing matters, then write the context you actually remember. Correct timestamps only when you have a reliable basis.

Normal journal use keeps the information on this device. JSON backup export includes the recorded fields as readable data; the separate progress-image export deliberately excludes the journal.

Use a concrete example

A note added today to last week's session remains attached to last week's record. It does not turn that session into a new completion or move it to the top.

Read the note in context

Avoid filling gaps with plausible details just because you want every record to look complete. An acknowledged unknown is more honest than a reconstructed certainty.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
