Know the data boundary
A progress image is a PNG designed for a chosen visual summary. A JSON backup contains structured session records and settings that the importer can read.
Use the supported file workflow
Use Export image for a session, rhythm, or recent-week visual. Use Export backup file when you want the ability to restore the ledger on this or another device.
The importer expects a version-1 Fastly JSON object and rejects files larger than 10 MB. Record validation checks dates, goal values, note length, optional weight, and the distinction between running and completed records.
Check the copy you actually have
The image deliberately excludes the journal. That is useful for selective sharing, but it also means the image cannot recreate your notes, archived entries, or full history.
| Check | Practical meaning |

| PNG image | Visual summary |
| JSON backup | Restorable structured records |
Manage each retained copy
Keeping a screenshot of every page still differs from retaining a restorable JSON dataset. Choose the format that matches your actual purpose.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
