Understand the selected surface
Android's Fastly Timer widget offers a Home Screen view of the local timer. It reads this device's session state rather than retrieving an account-based record.
Set it up or export deliberately
Touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Widgets, find Fastly Timer, and drag it into place. Resize it if your launcher provides that option, then inspect the result.
The Share screen exports a PNG for Session, Rhythm, or This week, with Square, Story, or Landscape proportions and 1080 px or 2160 px width. Preview the selected quantity before choosing a destination.
Check what is actually shown
Tap the widget to open Fastly for the latest progress. Launcher appearance and refresh behavior can differ, so compare it with Today when an update seems delayed.
Respect the display and file boundary
The widget does not create cross-device synchronization. An Android phone and another device can have different local ledgers unless you deliberately transfer a backup.
Progress images exclude the journal. A JSON backup is a separate, readable file containing the ledger and supported settings, so the two exports have different privacy and recovery consequences.
A worked walkthrough
Start a setup check by reading Today in Fastly so you know which state the widget should represent. Open the Android Home Screen widget picker, locate Fastly Timer, and place it in available space. If your launcher supports resizing, adjust the layout and read the result rather than assuming the largest footprint is always necessary. Tap the widget to reopen Fastly and compare the current record. If the app is accurate but the Home Screen lags, keep the investigation focused on refresh or launcher behavior. If the app itself contains an unintended active session, correct that event from reliable information rather than trying to repair it by moving the widget. The same distinction applies after a device migration: importing the ledger and placing a widget are separate steps, and the widget does not synchronize the phone with another device's independently stored records.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
