Know which records you are viewing
A backup captures the local ledger as it exists at export time. Reviewing recent corrections first can save you from carrying an obvious mistake into the copy you plan to keep.
Make the smallest useful change
Inspect the latest completed session and any active start, confirm journal edits were saved, and decide whether test entries belong in main history or the archive.
Each completed record has its own start and end. A valid correction keeps end at or after start and no later than now; a running session instead uses its stored start and the current clock.
Verify the result
Then export through the backup page and verify that the resulting JSON file was actually saved to your chosen destination. Opening a share sheet alone does not identify a saved file.
| Check | Practical meaning |
|---|---|
| Review ledger | Confirm recent timing and notes |
| Export JSON | Create a restorable copy |
Preserve an honest history
Keep the original app data until the backup is safely stored. A progress image is a different export and does not contain restorable session records.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
