Know the data boundary
The safest moment to verify a device transfer is while the original records and exported file are still available. Verification should inspect meaningful content, not only a success message.
Use the supported file workflow
Compare the latest completed entry, an older record, one archived item, a journal, and any active session. Review reminder times and display preferences on the destination.
The importer expects a version-1 Fastly JSON object and rejects files larger than 10 MB. Record validation checks dates, goal values, note length, optional weight, and the distinction between running and completed records.
Check the copy you actually have
A successful import confirms the file was accepted, but you still need to establish that it was the intended file and contains the expected period of history.
| Check | Practical meaning |
|---|---|
| Check content | Recent, older, archive, journal |
| Keep source | Until destination is verified |
Manage each retained copy
Keep the source until those checks make sense. Do not repeatedly import different files just to compare them without tracking which complete dataset each one contains.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
