Know the data boundary
Moving Fastly data is a manual file transfer, because there is no account or automatic server copy. Keep the old device's records until the new device is verified.
Use the supported file workflow
Export a fresh JSON backup on the old device, save or transfer it through a destination you choose, then import that file in Fastly on the new device.
There is no account or automatic custom-server backup in this release. The privacy text also states that the app's private local storage is excluded from automatic cloud device backups; exported files are your separately chosen copies.
Check the copy you actually have
After restoring, check recent sessions, archived entries, a representative journal, the selected goal, and reminder preferences. System notification permission may still require a separate choice on the new device.

Manage each retained copy
Do not erase the old device solely because the share sheet opened. Verify the saved file and the restored data first, then manage the old copy deliberately.
Erasing local data does not delete files you previously exported. Reinstalling or changing devices can remove access to local records, so verify a saved backup before those actions if you want the ledger to remain recoverable.
A worked walkthrough
A useful transfer check uses several kinds of records rather than a single number. After importing on the new phone, compare the most recent completed session, one older month, an archived entry, and a journal with known context. If a session was active during export, inspect its original start and understand that elapsed time now includes the time since that start. Review reminder times and quiet hours in the new device's local context, then handle notification permission separately. Add any desired widget through the new operating system's own picker. These checks distinguish record completeness from presentation and permission differences. Keep the old phone and the saved file available until the new ledger makes sense. A success message establishes that an import was accepted; your content check establishes that it was the file and time period you intended to move.
