Know which records you are viewing
An empty history can have several ordinary explanations: no session has been stopped yet, all visible records were archived, or a calendar selection contains no records.
Make the smallest useful change
Check Today for an active session before assuming nothing has been saved. Then inspect List and Archived sessions to separate a genuinely new ledger from a filtered or reorganized one.
Each completed record has its own start and end. A valid correction keeps end at or after start and no later than now; a running session instead uses its stored start and the current clock.
Verify the result
A running session is stored as current, not as a completed history entry. It appears in the Journal tab only after you stop and an end timestamp is recorded.
| Check | Practical meaning |
|---|---|
| Current session | Not completed history |
| Empty selection | May contain no matching records |
Preserve an honest history
If device data was cleared or the app reinstalled, an exported backup is the relevant recovery source. Fastly does not fetch an automatic server copy.
The month calendar can filter the list to a selected day. Tapping that selected day clears the selection; changing months also clears it, so always read the list heading before assuming records are absent.
A worked walkthrough
On a new installation, start and stop are separate steps in creating completed history. If you started but have not stopped, Today can contain a persisted active record while History remains empty. In another case, a long-used installation can show an empty selected month because all retained main-history sessions ended elsewhere. In a third, archiving every completed entry can leave main history empty while the archive still contains records. These cases look similar at a glance but call for different checks. Inspect the current state, then List, then the relevant month and archive. Only after those checks consider deletion, import replacement, or cleared device data. This sequence avoids replacing a perfectly valid ledger just because a particular view contains no matching entries. An empty view is a display observation, not yet a diagnosis of data loss.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
