A LITTLE CLARITY · PRIVACY & BACKUPS

Understand external help and store links

Opening a help or store link leaves the app's local record workflow and visits a third-party service. The destination has its own privacy policy and request behavior.

Know the data boundary

Opening a help or store link leaves the app's local record workflow and visits a third-party service. The destination has its own privacy policy and request behavior.

Use the supported file workflow

Read the destination before opening if you want to understand where the link goes. Treat browsing that site as a separate interaction from using the offline timer and journal.

Erasing local data does not delete files you previously exported. Reinstalling or changing devices can remove access to local records, so verify a saved backup before those actions if you want the ledger to remain recoverable.

Check the copy you actually have

Fastly's local-only ledger does not imply that every website or store page you choose to open has the same privacy properties. The app's boundary ends at the external destination.

Manage each retained copy

Do not include a full backup in a support message by default. Share only the specific information needed for the question and review personal fields before choosing any file.

Backup export includes the current session when present, completed history, archived sessions, journal fields, protocol, goal, and supported settings. It is readable JSON, so store the file in a destination whose access you understand.

A worked walkthrough

Suppose you open a store listing to check availability or a help page to ask a question. That destination may receive the normal requests associated with visiting its service, and it has its own privacy rules. This is separate from the timer's local storage of your session ledger. If you contact support, begin with the specific symptom and relevant app context rather than attaching a full readable backup automatically. A screenshot or a short description may be sufficient, and any file should be previewed for personal details before you choose to send it. The app does not need to transmit your journal simply because you opened a help link. Keeping the interaction separate makes it easier to decide what information you intend to disclose, to whom, and for what concrete purpose at that moment.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
