Give the entry a purpose
Fastly's journal has an optional weight field labeled in kilograms. It stores the value with that session; it does not create a medical interpretation from the number.
Write and save deliberately
If you choose to use it, enter a valid positive number in kg and check the unit before saving. Leave it empty if you do not want weight included in your log.
Archived sessions retain their journal fields and are included in JSON backups. Moving a record out of the main list therefore does not remove its private wording from the device or from a new export.
Use a concrete example
A number entered in another unit would still be treated as kilograms, so the unit label matters. Correct an accidental entry directly rather than adding a second note to compensate.
| Check | Practical meaning |
|---|---|
| Unit | Kilograms |
| Blank value | No weight stored |
Read the note in context
Do not infer body composition, health status, or a cause of change from one stored value. The purpose of the field is to retain a user-entered measurement alongside context.
The journal fields are optional. Mood choices are Calm, Good, Tired, Hungry, or no selection; notes are plain text up to 5,000 characters, and weight is an optional positive number in kilograms.
A worked walkthrough
Imagine entering a measurement from a source that displays a different unit. The journal's label still says kilograms, so copying the bare number without conversion would give it the wrong meaning. Do not rely on the app to infer the source unit or explain the value. If you are unsure, leave the optional field blank until you have a valid value you actually intend to retain. If you discover a mistaken entry later, clear or correct it directly and save the journal again. A note can identify relevant uncertainty, but it does not change the numeric field's unit. A new backup will contain the corrected current record, while an older export can still hold the mistaken value. This is a data-entry and copy-management issue, separate from any interpretation of the measurement.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
