Understand the selected surface
Fastly's desktop widget page recommends keeping its resizable window nearby. The active guide explicitly says this desktop release does not include a macOS Notification Center widget.
Set it up or export deliberately
On desktop, use the app window as the glanceable timer view. On supported mobile platforms, use the Home or Lock Screen instructions shown for that operating system.
The Share screen exports a PNG for Session, Rhythm, or This week, with Square, Story, or Landscape proportions and 1080 px or 2160 px width. Preview the selected quantity before choosing a destination.
Check what is actually shown
A mobile widget screenshot does not establish that the same widget exists on every desktop platform. The guide changes its content based on the current platform.

Respect the display and file boundary
Keep platform capabilities separate from the shared local timer and journal concept. The desktop window still provides access to the record even without the mobile widget surface.
Progress images exclude the journal. A JSON backup is a separate, readable file containing the ledger and supported settings, so the two exports have different privacy and recovery consequences.
A worked walkthrough
Imagine reading mobile instructions online and then looking for the same Home Screen surface on a desktop installation. The active desktop guide instead points to keeping the resizable Fastly window nearby and explicitly states that this release has no macOS Notification Center widget. That platform distinction does not remove the local timer or journal from the app window. Use the window for deliberate checks of elapsed time and session controls, and avoid interpreting an unavailable desktop widget as an incomplete personal setup. On a supported mobile device, follow the relevant iOS or Android placement flow separately. Capability descriptions should stay attached to their platform and release rather than being generalized from one screenshot. A shared product name does not imply that every operating system exposes identical widget areas, sizes, refresh controls, or placement interactions.
