Understand the selected surface
Opening the system share sheet is not a requirement to send a file. You can cancel if the destination, preview, or amount of information is not what you intended.
Set it up or export deliberately
Review the content before selecting a destination. If you change your mind, dismiss the share sheet and return to the app; then adjust the Share choices or leave without exporting.
Progress images exclude the journal. A JSON backup is a separate, readable file containing the ledger and supported settings, so the two exports have different privacy and recovery consequences.
Check what is actually shown
Canceling a share does not stop the active session, delete the history entry, or clear the journal. Sharing controls the selected file workflow rather than the underlying event facts.

Respect the display and file boundary
If you already completed a transfer, canceling a later share does not retract the earlier copy. Manage any sent file through its destination's own controls.
Session sharing uses the current session when present, otherwise the latest completed main-history record. The resulting image is static and does not update later when the timer, record, or summary changes.
A worked walkthrough
Imagine selecting Export image and then noticing the system picker is aimed at an unintended destination. Dismiss it before completing the transfer, return to Share, and review the chosen value and format. The timer can remain active through this interaction because the share workflow does not itself create an end. Likewise, canceling does not erase the latest completed entry or clear its journal. If a file was already successfully saved or sent earlier, canceling this new attempt does not retract that prior copy; its destination manages it independently. This is a useful boundary to keep in mind when making repeated previews or correcting an image after an edit. Each completed export is a static file, while the app's record and future previews can continue to change. Review the destination's own state if you need to establish whether an earlier transfer finished.
