A HELPING HAND · WIDGETS & SHARING

When a widget shows an old session state

An old-looking widget can result from delayed system refresh rather than an incorrect local record.

Understand the selected surface

An old-looking widget can result from delayed system refresh rather than an incorrect local record. Begin by checking the app's state instead of starting or stopping another session as a test.

Set it up or export deliberately

Tap the widget, inspect Today, and verify the current start, goal, and whether a session is active. Returning from the app can provide the native widget with refreshed state.

The iOS guide specifies iOS 17 or later, Small or Medium Home Screen widgets, and a circular Lock Screen option. Android uses the Home Screen widget picker; this desktop release instead recommends the resizable app window.

Check what is actually shown

If the app itself shows a forgotten active record, correct that record from known facts. If only the widget differs, keep the investigation focused on the view and system refresh.

Respect the display and file boundary

Avoid repeated backup imports to fix a widget display. Import replaces the ledger and is much broader than a refresh issue.
