SIDE BY SIDE · WIDGETS & SHARING

Keep widgets and backups conceptually separate

A widget is a presentation of the local timer.

Understand the selected surface

A widget is a presentation of the local timer. A backup is a saved file containing the ledger and supported settings. Seeing the timer on a Home Screen does not create a recoverable copy.

Set it up or export deliberately

Use a widget for quick access and export JSON when you need a separate copy. Before reinstalling or changing devices, verify the backup rather than assuming the widget retained your history elsewhere.

Progress images exclude the journal. A JSON backup is a separate, readable file containing the ledger and supported settings, so the two exports have different privacy and recovery consequences.

Check what is actually shown

Removing a widget from the Home Screen is also different from erasing app records. It changes placement of a view, not the saved session collection through the app's erase control.

Respect the display and file boundary

Choose the tool that matches the task: glance, open, save a copy, or replace records. Each has a distinct data consequence.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
