A page for the everyday
Fastly has two places for context: a note attached to a specific session, and a daily check-in attached to a local calendar date. A daily entry does not need a current or completed fasting session. It gives you a place to remember an ordinary moment without creating a timer record to hold it.
Daily notes do not add sessions to the weekly fasting chart or change the duration of an existing record. Keep that distinction in mind when looking back: the Journal tab contains session history, while the daily journal contains your day-by-day check-ins.
Make a little check-in
On Today, find Your daily pause and tap the mood card. Choose Calm, Good, Low energy or Restless, or leave the mood blank. Write a note if you want to; the daily note field accepts up to 2,000 characters. Tap Save check-in to keep your changes.
You can also open Explore, select Open daily journal, and use the edit button for today's entry. A mood is an optional self-description. It does not identify a condition or explain why you feel a particular way.
Return to a day
The daily journal lists saved days with the most recent date first. Tap an existing day to edit that day's mood or note. Saving an edit preserves its water count, just as adding a glass preserves its mood and note.
For example, a short note about an unusually busy morning can sit beside a Calm label without making a claim about your fasting session. Record only the details you find useful; there is no requirement to fill every field.
| Entry | What it belongs to |
|---|---|
| Session note | One fasting record |
| Daily check-in | One local calendar date |
Keep the record yours
These entries stay on your device and are included when you export a Fastly JSON backup. Restoring a backup replaces the local backup-managed data. Export your current records before changing phones, reinstalling, or importing a different backup.
Daily check-ins are not included in the progress images created by Share. An exported JSON backup is different: it contains readable personal data, including daily notes, so choose its destination carefully.
Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
