A LITTLE CLARITY · GETTING STARTED

What happens at goal reached

Goal reached means elapsed time is at least the session's chosen goal.

Understand the record

Goal reached means elapsed time is at least the session's chosen goal. The controller does not automatically stop the timer or convert the record into a completed session at that instant.

Use the controls deliberately

Open the app to see whether a session is still running. If it is, stopping records the actual end time; leaving it running continues to calculate elapsed time from the original start.

The timer uses a stored start timestamp rather than depending on the screen staying open. Read the date alongside the clock time whenever you correct a session that crosses midnight or a change of local time.

Check a practical example

A session with a ten-hour goal can remain open beyond ten hours. That extra time is recorded only because the timer remains active, not because Fastly has selected another target.

Keep the meaning clear

The goal notification is an optional reminder, not an instruction to continue or stop. Make the recording reflect your actual decision and circumstances.

A goal marker compares elapsed time with the chosen hours. It does not measure food intake, nutritional adequacy, or medical outcomes; none of those can be inferred from a filled progress ring.

A worked walkthrough

Imagine returning to the app after its chosen goal instant has passed. The display says goal reached, but the stop control is still relevant because the session remains current. If the event you are recording ends now, stop now and review the saved duration. If it actually ended earlier and you forgot the control, stop and then correct the completed end using the time you know. These paths lead to different factual records, even though both begin with a full ring. The goal marker cannot decide which one describes your circumstances. Likewise, a notification arriving during this check is only another cue; its arrival time may have been shifted by quiet hours or the system. The important distinction is the selected threshold versus the real event you want the end timestamp to represent.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
