A HELPING HAND · REMINDERS & ROUTINES

When notification permission is denied

If the operating system denies notification permission, Fastly cannot reliably present its local reminder through that permission gate.

Decide what cue you want

If the operating system denies notification permission, Fastly cannot reliably present its local reminder through that permission gate. The app may ask you to allow notifications in system settings.

Check the relevant settings

Open the device's app notification settings for Fastly and inspect the permission. If you choose to enable it, return to Reminders and try the relevant reminder switch again.

The notification service skips scheduling instants that are already in the past. A goal can therefore be reached in the app without a new retrospective alert after a start correction or goal reduction.

Understand the timing distinction

Keep the timer's goal and start unchanged while resolving permission. Notification authorization concerns delivery, not whether the underlying session timing record is valid.

Keep control of the routine

You can also leave permission denied and use the app manually. Fastly does not require notification access for a timer-only workflow.

Fastly is a lifestyle timer and journal. These notes explain the app and offer reflection prompts. They are not medical advice or a prescribed eating schedule.
